If you’ve purchased a new phone the past few years, chances are good that it is powered by one of Qualcomm’s SoC’s. The company has smartly used a combination of custom CPU/GPU architecture and advanced LTE modems to increase it’s market share over its competitors (even putting them out of business)

Despite the long continuous success of their flagships, the 810 has been a disappointment. Best case, it is faster than the 805 and the other chips that it will be replacing. However, in recent flagship phones, they have been found to run hot and as a consequence thermal throttling has crippled long term performance.

While thermal throttling is normal in small devices such us smartphones, tablets and laptops (to avoid melting down the core) the 810 runs unusually hot. Its direct competitor, the Exynos 7420 – which runs a similar build of cortex a53 and a57 and running at roughly the same max clock speed still manages to outperform it at extended use scenarios.

Long story short, all modern SoC throttle, but the 810 is the worst offender. It’s so severe that the chip actually runs slower than older SoCs in extended runs. The Exynos 7 Octa- which has the same or similar specs is a much better chip in real world scenarios.


mediatek helio-x20 vs snapdragon 810

Mediatek has announced that the Helio x20 will hit the market within the next month.This comes almost a year after the first unveiling. The same time, they also announced a revised Helio x25

The Chip manufacturer is ready to compete with Qalcomm’s flagship, the snapdragon 820. The snapdragon was revealed in august the previous year and has only been seen in the wild in recent smartphone models.

The helio is built on a tri-cluster CPU architecture – the first of its kind in the world.


The iPhone 6 is one of the most popular is bigger at 5.1in and Samsung is tipped to jump up to 5.5in making the difference even bigger – although that will match the larger iPhone 6 Plus.

Apple used a strange sounding 750 x 1334 resolution in order to retain its ‘Retina’ quality 326 ppi. Samsung already offers a higher pixel density on the S5 and rumours suggest an upgrade to Quad HD for the Galaxy S6. That’s 1440 x 2560 and would mean an impressive 538 ppi matching the LG G3.
With two versions of the iPhone 6 available in different sizes, Samsung is likely to also offer different S6 models. A GalaxyS6 mini is on the cards and so are a GalaxyS6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Active.Processor and memory
For a while it seemed like Samsung would go with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor which is due to debut inside the LG G Flex 2. However, reports of overheating issues mean it looks like the firm will go with its own Exynos 7 with the possibility of later batches getting the 810 if the problems are sorted.
Either way, the Galaxy S6 will be 64-bit and octa-core so it will be a good battle with the iPhone 6 which uses Apple’s own A8 processor which is 1.4 GHz dual-core and 64-bit. In terms of RAM, Apple uses less than most Android rivals with 1 GB so a whopping 3 GB in the Galaxy S6 is quite the difference but they run on different software.Storage
With only two models of the Galaxy S5 to choose from (16- or 32 GB), rumours propose Samsung will expand the selection of storage capacities to 32-, 64- and 128 GB. That almost matches the iPhone 6 but has double the amount for the cheapest model. Apple offers 16-, 64- and 128 GB on both iPhone 6 models.
An important difference is that Samsung will almost certainly offer expandable storage via a microSD card slot. All of its high end devices have the feature apart from the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.Cameras
Over the years Apple has proven that megapixels aren’t everything. The iPhone 6 still offers 8 Mp which is the same resolution available on some budget phones these days. However, the quality is far superior to those cheap handsets with tech like a BSI sensor and Focus Pixels.
Samsung has a history of producing excellent cameras in the Galaxy S range and is rumoured to move from 16 Mp to 20 Mp for the Galaxy S6. Although that sounds like a big difference compared to the iPhone 6 we’ll have to wait and see what it can do.
Video recording looks like it will be a key area as the iPhone 6 doesn’t have optical image stabilisation but does offer 240 fps slo-mo and time-lapse and maxes out at Full HD 1080p. New features of the Galaxy S6 camera remain to be seen but it will certainly offer up to 4K resolution. Other hardware
Beyond the normal set of hardware which any smartphone offers, manufacturers needs to make phones stand out from the crowd with additional features. The iPhone 6 offers the latest wireless including Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 – there’s no doubt the Galaxy S6 will be equipped with the same so we’re interested in other things.
Although the iPhone 6 has NFC, it’s currently for Apple Pay only. Samsung will offer NFC on the Galaxy S6 and although it looks like the firm is working on a rival payment system with Visa and LoopPay, it won’t be restricted to just this functionality.
The iPhone 6 has a fingerprint scanner in the form of Touch ID and the Galaxy S6 will also have a similar feature moving from swipe to touch. Three things which are likely to be on the Galaxy S6 but not the iPhone 6 are an IR blaster, UV sensor and heart rate monitor.iPhone 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S6: Software
It’s a given that software will be a major difference between these two heavy weight smartphones with Apple running its own iOS (currently iOS 8 but the iPhone 6 will get upgraded to iOS 9 later this year). Samsung uses Google’s Android OS and the Galaxy S6 will come pre-loaded with version 5.0 Lollipop.
Samsung overlays Android with is TouchWiz user interface which for the Galaxy S6 is rumoured to be stripped back a lot to be close to stock Android as found on the Nexus devices. That sounds good to us and even better is the possibility of less bloatware so things like S Note, S Health and S Voice won’t be pre-loaded but Microsoft apps might be.

We all know that Google Nexus 4 is one of the flagship device by Google. That’s one of the reason Google Nexus 4 got official update to 4.2.2. Step By Step Guide on : Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Chameleon Custom ROM for Google Nexus 4-

Copy Both the downloaded files to base location( to any location which can be easily accessed) of your phone.

Shut down your phone and goto recovery mode by pressing VOLUME DOWN + POWER button simultaneously and then  select “recovery” to boot into “CWM Recovery“. (If your navigation keys are disabled than you can again enable them by pressing both volume keys together)

Wipe your phone data which is show as (select wipe/factory reset option and click power option and then navigate to Yes).

After you select Yes wait for wiping process to be done and then follow the same procedure for “wipe cache partition” and after that, select “Wipe Dalvik Cache” .

After all partition are formatted as written above, come to main menu of CWM and select “Install zip from sdcard” and then select the downloaded file which is ” Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Chameleon Custom ROM for Google Nexus 4. After you navigate to file select by power button and installation process will start and it will take 3-5 minutes to complete so be seated and let installation process be done fully.

After installation of above file is done which is ROM installation, go back to main menu of CWM and repeat the above step and choose “Gapps zip file” on place of ROM zip and install the Google apps package.

When both installation process are done move to main menu of CWM and select reboot option to restart your Google Nexus 4.
Congratulation you have successfully installed  Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Chameleon Custom ROM, When youe Google Nexus 4 is rebooting it many take 3-5 minutes to start for first time because all application need to be updated and this may cause delay in booting but don’t worry for next time you boot you will not face this problem again.



Moto-X 3rd-Gen Specs Revealed


For the past few years, Motorola has made enormous leaps in the build quality of its flagship phones. It is no surprise then, that the latest generation might be the best phone Motorola has ever made. Inside, it doesn’t pack the raw horsepower of other flagship phones, but like the saying says, it’s got it where it counts. The chassis has great ergonomics and is completely customizable. Expandable memory continues to be a huge plus (why they would go away from it is a mystery) Sure the battery performance leaves a lot to be desired and a better camera would have put this phone over the top but right now, for the price, there is no other phone that can match it.


Motorola has finally switched to a QHD panel. I’m not sure that resolution actually matters when it comes to screens this size but damn me if it does look so good. The point is, it’s a solid IPS screen, it has good viewing and it looks really good. Samsung’s AMOLED panels still have the advantage when it comes to vibrance and color, but this comes really close.

It also retains its distinctly curved corners, the plastic trim and all the button and port locations. It’s nothing fancy but it is functional and it works well.

They changed the earpiece and speaker shapes -making them narrower. Unlike the previous year’s model, they did off with the stereo speakers. Turning into a single earpiece speaker combo.

Similar to the S-5 the back is removable despite the fact that it is water resistant. Underneath you’ll find slots for a micro SIM and a microSD. The expandable storage is going to be invaluable to models with 8 GB and 16 GB storage. Seriously, in the age with 128 GB thumb drives, they still skimp on storage?




Moto-x 3rd Gen Camera Features Pictured

13 MP camera with Dual Tone Flash

The latest Generation Moto G has a 13 MP main camera kitted with f/2 lens. Flash is handled by a dual tone led flash. It’s a massive improvement over the previous iteration in theory but we haven’t tested it yet.

Three things help make the Pure a great point-and-shoot: Unlike the previous moto x, the current model now has an excellent camera. The interface has been simplified. HDR is now on by default (which saves time) and the sensor is excellent in different lighting situations. The shots we took were very clear and don’t looked washed out. The HDR mode however can be detrimental to image quality at times. While the moto x’s new sensor isn’t the best at capturing the finer details (specially in low light). When shooting some street scenes, the galaxy note was visibly better, capturing the small details with great clarity. However, the moto-x produced more vibrant colors but losing details in the process.

The downside of the simplified interface though is that at times it feels too simplistic. It’s pretty fast though.You can easily whip this out and take a dozen photos in no time- which strangely enough is a problem. It can be so tempting to just blitz shoot a dozen photos and pick later. It might be better to have more options on the outset though. The amount of options is pretty sparse. There’s a low light mode, various flash settings, tap focus and video mode options in a toggle button. 4k video is finally available and it looks excellent. They’ve finally delivered an excellent camera, unfortunately so has the competiton


Snapdragon 818 10-cores chipset spotted

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 818 will be Qualcomm’s first deca-core (10 core) processor. It is reported to sport the new Adreno 532 gpu. It also supports LTE Cat 10 connections. It has cores arranged into different tiers- 4 low power A53 cores (running at 1.2 Ghz) 2 intermediate power cores (running at 1.6Ghz) and finally 4 High Ghz cores (2.0 Ghz) It is built on their 20nm SOC and runs LPDDR4 RAM

If all goes as predicted, we will soon be seeing these chips in the wild. Benchmarks will come soon after. The chipset is even used on Industrial Machines on Large Scale like Alkaline Machines and more common home necessities like refrigerators and smart TVs.
